Surrendering to the will of God

In Matthew 16 : 24 - 25, Jesus teaches his disciples about the importance of surrendering to the will of God, saying, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. And whoever wants to save his life will lose." These words confirm the sacrificial element of surrender to God. In order to fully follow Christ and endure hardship or persecution, we must give up our own passions and desires. Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that those who seek God must have trust in his presence and in the results of their faith, emphasizing the significance of having unwavering faith in his goodness and purpose.

Through Jesus' own revelations to Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, there is a loud invitation from the Divine Appeals to pursue a deep path of faith. They act as guiding lights, illuminating the path for mankind and urging them towards the highest act of obedience: submitting to God's will.

You must surrender yourself to My Will. You must follow Me along the Way of the Cross so that you can make restitution for the sins of mankind. (Divine Appeal 17)

In Divine Appeal 17, Jesus asks for surrender to His will, walk with Him on the way to the cross, and participate in the redemption of humanity. This commitment is not passive but active, requiring deliberate participation in the divine plan of salvation and transforming mankind into channels of Christ’s mercy and love.

I love mankind! Pray, do penance, surrender yourselves without thinking what will happen to you. (Divine Appeal 50)

Similarly, Divine Appeal 50 emphasizes the importance of surrender, emphasizing prayer, repentance, and acceptance of God’s will. Unreserved surrender means unwavering faith in God’s plan, freedom from anxiety and fear, and comfort in His wisdom and love.

Do the will of My Eternal Father and completely surrender yourself. I enlighten you. Calm down in everything. This is what I want of you.” (Divine Appeal 73)

The Divine Appeal 73 directs mankind to obey and surrender completely to the will of the Eternal Father, characterized by humility, obedience, and trust. Offering God’s will is critical to spiritual growth and transformation. By surrendering, mankind open themselves to God's guidance and grace, experiencing profound change in their lives.

I want mankind to listen to the voice of My Mercy. Surrender yourself without thinking of what will happen to you. (Divine Appeal 216)

Similarly, Divine Appeal 216 emphasize the significance of listening to God's voice of mercy and giving ourselves unconditionally. Surrendering unreservedly allows mankind to receive abundant blessings and experience God's transformative power in their lives.

I order you to do everything I wish. I want your sacrifice, your humility, your total
submission! At every call you must come with Me up to Calvary and I give you My Love. Surrender yourself without thinking what will happen next. (Divine Appeal 219)

In Divine Appeal 219, Jesus commands total surrender, requiring sacrifice and self-denial as mankind accompany Him to Calvary. Through this surrender, they encounter the love of Christ and rise with Him to glory. Surrender to God’s will brings spiritual renewal and a deeper relationship with Him.

Do not be disturbed by the incomprehension and miseries which surround you. I want your soul to be simple. This is the way your
complete surrender pleases Me. (Divine Appeal 223)

Finally, in Divine Appeal 223, Jesus invites mankind to acknowledge weakness and surrender completely to the Spirit, free of worldly distractions. Surrender enables us to be vessels of God’s grace and instruments of His peace. In conclusion, it is important for Catholics to be committed to the will of God as expressed through the divine call of Jesus. Through baptism, mankind actively participate in God’s plan of salvation, embody the sacrificial love of Christ, and experience His transforming grace. Through unwavering faith and belief in God’s goodness, mankind trust His plan for their lives and submit themselves completely to His will.
