Divine Appeal Reflection - 215
Today, consider in Divine Appeal 215: "The moment is nearing when I will no longer ask for anything but rather I will take everything with all the force of My Eternal Father."
Our Adorable Jesus, reveals a solemn truth that pierces the depths of the soul: the time is swiftly approaching when He will no longer gently implore but will act with the sovereign authority of the Eternal Father. This is not a pronouncement of wrath, but a proclamation of divine order—where mercy and justice meet. It speaks of a moment when the veil of patient waiting will be drawn back, and the full radiance of God’s will shall unfold. Jesus, ever bending toward mankind in an unfathomable display of love, seeks not to cast souls away but to gather them, pulling them from the snares of sin and the illusions of self-reliance into the embrace of His Eternal Father (cf. CCC 1847).
Reflecting deeply on this appeal, we recognize the tender yet firm heart of our Adorable Jesus. He who weeps with longing for our conversion will one day act—not out of frustration, but from a perfect love that refuses to abandon souls to their own ruin. His bending toward us is not a fleeting gesture; it is the perpetual motion of divine compassion, drawing near even when we turn away. Yet the moment will come when His loving appeal will give way to the solemn fulfillment of God’s plan, much like the seasons of mercy and justice spoken of in Scripture, for there is a time for every purpose under heaven (cf. Ecclesiastes 3:1). To delay our response is to risk the silence of mercy's voice when the hand of justice moves.
The saints grasped this divine reality with clarity. St. Augustine pleaded with people not to postpone their conversion, telling us that the hope of tomorrow might be a deadly illusion, a falsehood that prevents us from accepting God today. With a heart full of love for Christ, St. Catherine of Siena shows His deep, insatiable desire for our purity. She portrays His justice as a purifying fire, burning away our flaws and transforming us with the warmth of His love. This insight illuminates our Adorable Jesus' words, whose ongoing appeal to us is made even more potent by His Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament, leading us into closer connection with His divine heart. How heartbreaking it must be for Him to go unheard, His appeal landing on minds hardened by pride or diverted by the outside world.
Let us then awaken to this Divine Appeal with renewed fervor. Our Adorable Jesus bends so low—residing in the tabernacles of the world, pleading through every Eucharistic presence—that we might lift our souls to meet His gaze. This is the hour of mercy, but the hour of action is near. May we respond not with hesitation but with holy urgency, trusting that His justice will always be rooted in love, and His will, though firm, seeks only to perfect our souls in union with the Eternal Father.
Prayer
Our Adorable Jesus, we humbly bow before Your Real Presence, acknowledging Your boundless mercy and the solemn call of Your justice. Bend our hearts to Your divine will, that we may turn away from sin and embrace Your love without delay. Strengthen us to respond with faith and fervor.
Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, intercede for us.
