JESUS' BENDING AS DIVINE LOVE PLEADS

Divine Appeal Reflection - 212

Today, consider in Divine Appeal 212: "Like a beggar, I pour My painful tears of blood while bending on mankind. They live in the obstinacy of sin; all kinds of crime. Never has it been in the history of mankind. The wrath of My Eternal Father is approaching; unthinkable to mankind."

With the humility of a God who makes Himself poor for our sake, rather than the grandeur of an earthly ruler, He plunges into the depths of His unending love for us. Not in His royal magnificence, but as a God who humbles Himself and chooses poverty to make us rich in grace, He plunges into the depths of His unending love. His bloody tears are poured out over humanity as He bears the crushing weight of our fall upon His shoulders. Yet from the depths of His Sacred Heart, He does not cry out in wrath, but in a sorrowful longing for the return of lost souls. His mourning is no fleeting sentiment; it is a love that bleeds, for sin is not a distant wound—it pierces His very Body, the Church, and strikes at the Most Holy Heart of the Eternal Father.Though He rules as the Almighty, Jesus chooses to humble Himself, not in pride or authority, but in love. He takes the form of a beggar, not asking for wealth or honor, but for our hearts—pleading with us to turn away from our sins and open ourselves to the grace that alone can heal and restore us (cf. CCC 1849).

The history of salvation bears witness to how repeatedly mankind has turned from God, yet never has the weight of sin been as grave as it is today. Crimes against life, against purity, and against the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament multiply, while hearts grow colder and more indifferent. Our Adorable Jesus bends over the world, not in a gesture of condemnation, but of urgent appeal—an appeal for conversion before the wrath of the Eternal Father manifests, a judgment unthinkable to human understanding (cf. Romans 2:5). His divine patience longs for repentance, for He takes no pleasure in the death of the sinner but desires that all would turn back to Him.

Saint Faustina once wrote of Jesus' unbearable sorrow at seeing souls run headlong into eternal ruin. Because love alone is His sacred weakness—a love so unrelenting that it welcomes humiliation to save even the most errant soul—He bows down to man's frailty. Like the father in the parable who rushed to embrace his prodigal son instead of waiting aimlessly, our Adorable Jesus delves deeply into our suffering in the hopes that we might even be able to grasp the hand that is extended toward us while we are wandering. He is never far or distant—always waiting, always crying, always loving—as his divine descent guarantees us (cf. Luke 15:20).

Now is the time for souls to respond to His tearful appeal. Each moment spent in complacency only deepens the chasm between us and His mercy. Let us lift our gaze to our Adorable Jesus, acknowledging His painful tears of blood, and resolve to turn away from sin. The wrath of the Eternal Father is not a distant threat but a sobering reality, yet even this justice is tempered by His boundless love. If we would but humble ourselves, repent sincerely, and adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, we would console His sorrowful Heart and avert the just punishment hanging over the world (cf. CCC 1432).

Prayer

Our Adorable Jesus, You who bend down upon us with painful tears of blood, pierce our hearts with true contrition. May we never grow cold to Your appeals but rise from the depths of sin into Your merciful embrace. In Your boundless love, lead all souls to conversion.
