Divine Appeal Reflection - 196
Today, consider in Divine Appeal 196: "My reign is a reign of Love."
These simple yet profound words pierce the heart of His mission and reveal the nature of His eternal kingdom. The Adorable Jesus reigns not through earthly dominion or power; His reign is rooted in the infinite love pouring forth from His Sacred Heart—love that redeems, heals, and sanctifies every soul. He humbled Himself and gave Himself, from the crib to the Cross, teaching us that true kingship consists in the self-giving love of offering (cf. Philippians 2:8; CCC 786).
Every encounter of our Adorable Jesus with souls tells the story of that reign of love. He sought the lost, healed the sick, forgave sinners, and welcomed the ostracized. His words and works manifested the merciful Heart of the Father, inviting all into the kingdom of love (cf. Luke 19:10; CCC 545). Even today, He reigns in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, hidden under the humble guise of bread, comforting and strengthening every repentant soul who approaches Him with contrition (cf. Matthew 11:28; CCC 1380).
Yet, the reign of our Adorable Jesus is often rejected. The world entices hearts with false kingdoms—of wealth, power, and pleasure—leading many away from the path of true peace. But the reign of love calls us to the way of the Cross: to forgive our enemies, bear one another's burdens, and live lives of charity and humility (cf. Matthew 16:24; CCC 459). To accept His reign is to allow His redeeming love to permeate our daily lives, transforming every relationship, every duty, and every work into an offering of love.
Our Heavenly Mother, the first to fully surrender to the reign of love, guides us to our Adorable Jesus with maternal tenderness. Her Immaculate Heart mirrors the purity, humility, and docility that welcome the kingdom of God into our lives (cf. Luke 1:38; CCC 494). She teaches us to trust unreservedly in His love, to seek His Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament with hearts disposed to reparation, and to respond with a life of prayer, sacrifice, and loving service. Through her most powerful intercession, may the reign of love of our Adorable Jesus take root in every heart and extend to the ends of the earth (cf. John 19:27; CCC 963).
Prayer
Our Adorable Jesus, King of Love, reign in our hearts and in every soul. Pour out Your mercy to transform us and heal our wounds. May Your love guide us each day, leading us to live with humility, charity, and trust, fully surrendered to Your will and grace.
