Divine Appeal Reflection - 185
Today, consider in Divine Appeal 185: "Make people pray more and love one another. My Heart is filled with pain. I ask many to help souls to return to Me."
Prayer is the lifeline that connects souls to God. When our Adorable Jesus tells us to "make people pray more," He is calling us to lead others into a deeper relationship with Him. Many have abandoned prayer, losing themselves in worldly distractions, and as Our Lord lamented, faith itself seems to be fading (cf. Luke 18:8). Without prayer, the soul remains vulnerable to the enemy’s deception, for we do not wrestle against mere flesh and blood but against spiritual forces seeking to lead souls astray (cf. Ephesians 6:12). Jesus’ appeal reminds us that prayer is not optional—it is a necessity for every soul that desires to remain united with Him.
We must rekindle devotion to prayer in families, among friends, and within our communities. Encouraging the Holy Rosary, Eucharistic Adoration, and frequent visits to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament will lead many souls back to divine grace. A prayer, however small it may be, is an act of love that soothes our Adorable Jesus, who suffers for the sins of the world. One day, His disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray, acknowledging that prayer is a gift from God that draws the soul into communion with Him (cf. Luke 11:1). The more we pray, the more channels we become for grace, making reparation for those who have turned away from God's love.
Our Adorable Jesus also calls us to a deeper love for one another, for love and prayer are inseparable. True love is sacrificial; it seeks the good of others and desires their salvation. Jesus wept over Jerusalem because His people did not recognize the time of His visitation, turning away from the love that could have saved them (cf. Luke 19:41). In our own times, many souls remain blind to God's call, locked in division, hatred, and unforgiveness. Yet, through acts of charity and sincere prayer, we can help restore love where it has been lost, fulfilling Christ’s command to love one another as He has loved us (cf. John 13:34).
When our Adorable Jesus laments, "My Heart is filled with pain," He reveals the immense sorrow He endures for souls who reject His love. The Good Shepherd continues to search for the lost and longs to restore them to His grace (cf. Lk 15:4-7). Yet, He summons us to cooperate in His work by praying, sacrificing, and working for the conversion of sinners.By offering passionate prayer and acts of reparation to comfort the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, we must continue to be steadfast in our faith, just as Our Lady did at the foot of the Cross. In this world that now has so many who have turned away from God, our intercessions and sacrifices become instruments of His mercy by bringing souls back to Him in His loving arms. May we never tire of offering our prayers and suffering for the salvation of all and for the consolation of the sorrowful Heart of our Adorable Jesus.
Prayer
Oh our Adorable Jesus, You thirst for souls and call us to prayer. Ignite in us a deep love for You and a burning zeal to bring others back through prayer and sacrifice. May our prayers console Your Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament and draw countless souls into Your merciful embrace.
Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, intercede for us.
