Divine Appeal Reflection - 187
Today, consider in Divine Appeal 187: "Meditate on how painful I underwent the salvation of mankind, the degree of My sweat... drops of blood trickling down from My Face. I want mankind to know the seriousness of this state. I desire them to understand the inexorable justice of My Eternal Father."
Our Adorable Jesus calls us to contemplate His suffering, not merely as a past event but as a perpetual reality. In His agony, He bore the full weight of humanity’s sins, sweating drops of blood as He faced the horror of mankind’s offenses against God (cf. Lk 22:44). Though His Passion was accomplished on Calvary, His sorrow continues each day as countless souls reject His love, offend His Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament, and remain indifferent to His sacrifice. He longs for us to recognize the gravity of sin and the necessity of reparation, that we may not take lightly the inexorable justice of the Eternal Father.
Each day, our Adorable Jesus witnesses countless souls rejecting His love, committing sins that grieve His Sacred Heart. He sees His Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament dishonored through neglect, sacrileges, and lack of faith. Many approach Him with coldness, others abandon Him completely, and still more deny His love by embracing sinful ways. This ongoing rejection deepens His sorrow and prolongs His suffering, as He thirsts for souls who will love and console Him.
His appeal calls us to understand that divine justice is not opposed to divine mercy but fulfills it. The justice of the Eternal Father required satisfaction for sin, which our Adorable Jesus willingly accepted, suffering the most excruciating pain to redeem us. Yet, those who persist in sin without repentance remain under the weight of justice. Jesus desires that all souls turn to Him in contrition, seeking His mercy before it is too late (cf. Ez 18:30-32). He longs for us to recognize both the depths of His love and the seriousness of offending God.
In response to His immense suffering, we are called to be His faithful companions, offering acts of reparation, prayer, and love. Each moment spent in adoration, each sacrifice offered for sinners, and each prayer of atonement consoles our Adorable Jesus in His agony. Like the angel who strengthened Him in Gethsemane (cf. Lk 22:43), we can bring Him comfort by our fidelity and love. Let us not allow Him to suffer alone but remain with Him, uniting our own pains with His for the salvation of souls.
Prayer
Oh Adorable Jesus, wounded by the sins of mankind, receive our acts of love and reparation. Forgive the indifference and ingratitude that grieve You. Strengthen us to remain faithful, offering prayer and sacrifice for those who offend You. May our love console You in Your suffering.
Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, intercede for us.
