THE CALL TO EUCHARISTIC ATTENTION

Divine Appeal Reflection - 184

Today, consider in Divine Appeal 184:  "Many come before My Tabernacle, while in front of Me and I looking and loving them, they turn their mind and attention away."

The presence of our Adorable Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is a gift beyond measure. In the Tabernacle, He waits with infinite love, longing for souls to come before Him with faith and devotion. Yet, as He laments, many who stand before His Real Presence turn their minds and hearts elsewhere, distracted by worldly concerns. How deeply this must wound His Sacred Heart! To be physically present before Jesus while neglecting Him in spirit is to miss the immense grace of being with the Lord of all creation, who looks upon us with love and thirsts for our love in return.

Every moment spent before the Eucharist is a moment of divine encounter. Whether in prolonged adoration or a brief pause, Jesus cherishes every act of faith made in His presence. A soul that kneels before Him, even for a few moments, acknowledges His kingship and consoles His Sacred Heart. When we turn our hearts and minds entirely to Him, we allow His silent yet powerful presence to transform us. He is not distant or indifferent—He is truly there, gazing upon us, listening to us, and desiring our love. If we realized the depth of His longing for our attention, we would hasten to His Tabernacle as often as possible, offering Him our hearts without reserve.

The Blessed Sacrament is not merely a symbol; it is Jesus Himself—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity—dwelling among us. To recognize this truth is to respond with love, reverence, and unwavering faith. A soul that frequently visits our Adorable Jesus in the Eucharist, even for a short while, receives untold graces. These visits need not be lengthy; even a simple moment of adoration, a silent prayer, or a reverent genuflection carries great value before Him. The more we immerse ourselves in His presence, the more He fills our souls with His divine light, strengthens us against temptation, and grants us peace that the world cannot give.

Let us never lose sight of this immense and unique privilege of encountering the Eucharistic Lord. Let us constantly approach Him with faith, love, and admiration, regardless of how long or short our time in His presence is. He waits patiently for us, His heart wide open. To experience His Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament and to receive the abundant graces He wishes to pour on our souls, may we visit Him often and with great devotion in the Blessed Sacrament.

Prayer

Our Adorable Jesus, grant us the grace to offer You our undivided attention during Holy Hour. Free us from distractions, that we may focus solely on Your boundless love. May this time spent with You in the Blessed Sacrament renew our hearts, heal our spirits, and draw us ever closer to Your Real Presence.

Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, intercede for us.
