THE HOLY NAME OF OUR ADORABLE JESUS

Divine Appeal Reflection - 180

Today, consider in Divine Appeal 180: "You have to mention My  Name more often in all your talks with anyone. ... see to it that you do this all the time. Open your heart to receive more. I have to erect an altar in your heart."

In a world where speaking openly about faith is often met with hesitation or even resistance, Jesus’ appeal to mention His Name in all our conversations calls us to a renewed courage and authenticity. Speaking the Name of our Adorable Jesus is a profound act of evangelization, one that invites His presence into every interaction. We sanctify our words and enable the seeds of faith to be sown in the minds of everyone we come into contact with by calling on His Name in times of joy, thankfulness, or suffering. Reminding us that our witness must be based on the truth and love of the Lord Jesus, St. Paul urges us to do everything we say and do in His name (cf. Colossians 3:17).

Jesus also invites us to open our hearts to receive His grace abundantly. When we speak His Name with reverence and love, we open ourselves to His transformative presence. His Name becomes a gateway to peace, strength, and blessings, aligning our desires with His divine will. It is an act of trust and surrender, one that acknowledges our dependence on Him. In this way, mentioning the Name of our Adorable Jesus not only blesses others but also deepens our own intimacy with Him, as His grace flows freely into our lives (cf. John 14:13).

Furthermore, Jesus' desire to erect an altar in our hearts is an invitation to a deeper spiritual communion. An altar is a sacred place of worship, sacrifice, and encounter with God. By allowing our hearts to become such a sanctuary, we create a space where our Adorable Jesus is adored and glorified in all we do. This interior altar signifies a life entirely centered on Him, where every thought, word, and action is a holy offering. Scripture reminds us of the greatest commandment: to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, and strength, urging us to make Him the center of our lives (cf. Deuteronomy 6:5).

Speaking the Name of Jesus frequently and reverently transforms not only our conversations but also our hearts and lives. It is an act of witness, worship, and surrender that draws us and others closer to Him. Let us respond to this Divine Appeal with fervor, boldly proclaiming the Name of our Adorable Jesus and allowing Him to reign in our hearts as we strive to make every word and action an offering to His glory. Through this practice, we fulfill our call to be living testimonies of His boundless love and grace in the world.

Prayer

Our Adorable Jesus, may Your holy Name be our constant song and prayer. Fill our hearts with Your grace and make them altars of love and adoration. Sanctify our words, that we may proclaim You boldly and draw souls to Your mercy. Reign in us always, dear Jesus.

Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, intercede for us.
