Divine Appeal Reflection - 163
Today, consider in Divine Appeal 163: "I want mankind to repent and to know the seriousness of the state of this earth and the inexorable justice of God if they do not pray and heed My Words given from My Divine Mercy."
The message of our Adorable Jesus in Divine Appeal 163 is a heartfelt plea for humanity to repent and recognize the gravity of the current spiritual and moral crisis on earth. Jesus, in His infinite mercy, invites us to turn away from sin, embrace prayer, and heed His divine words to avoid the inexorable justice of God. His message calls for an awakening—a realization that the state of the earth is not merely a consequence of societal failures but the fruit of humanity's collective estrangement from God. The seriousness of this appeal challenges us to confront our indifference and recommit to living in God’s grace.
The moral decay of the world today is marked by indifference to God, widespread corruption, and the normalization of sin. The rejection of divine truth, the destruction of life, and attacks on families all threaten society's very foundations. According to St. Paul, when humanity moves away from God, it becomes trapped in wickedness, envy, and malice (cf. Romans 1:28-32). This spiritual crisis grieves the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which yearns to bring healing and restoration to souls blinded by vanity and arrogance. Yet, our Adorable Jesus assures us that through repentance and prayer, the path to restoration remains open.
The justice of God, though inexorable, is never separated from His mercy. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that the Last Judgment is a call to conversion, emphasizing that God provides every opportunity for repentance while there is still time (cf. CCC 1041). Jesus’ warning is a loving call to accountability, reminding us that His justice reveals His truth and holiness. As He wept over Jerusalem's hardness of heart (cf. Luke 19:41-44), so too does He grieve for a world that turns away from Him. Ignoring His call risks the eternal separation of souls from the love and mercy He so freely offers.
In response to this Divine Appeal, our Adorable Jesus highlights prayer and repentance as the remedies for the world’s dire state. As Jesus assures us, if we humble ourselves, seek His face, and turn from sin, He will forgive and heal our land (cf. 2 Chronicles 7:14). Let us heed this call with urgency, embracing lives of prayer and conversion, and becoming beacons of His mercy in a world desperately in need of redemption.
Prayer
Our Adorable Jesus, we humbly repent for our sins and the indifference of the world. Grant us the grace to heed Your divine words, embrace prayer, and seek Your mercy. Help us to live in Your light and work for the salvation of souls.
Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, intercede for us.
