Today, consider in Divine Appeal 182: "In My Church Lucifer marches... I want souls to know that I call them all to prayer, penance, Holy Masses... Never before has the world needed prayers like at the present time. Evil grows to monstrous proportions... "
Despite the rising tide of evil, our Adorable Jesus does not abandon His flock. He calls all souls to prayer, penance, and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass—the greatest weapons against the powers of darkness. As in every age of spiritual trial, He urges His faithful to stand firm and not lose heart, for He has already conquered the world (cf. John 16:33). Though Lucifer marches even within the Church, seeking to deceive and corrupt, Jesus remains present, calling His children to unwavering faith and perseverance. Now, more than ever, He desires that souls turn to Him with love and trust, embracing the means He has given for their sanctification.
Prayer is the divine lifeline, binding the soul to Jesus and fortifying it against all assaults from the enemy. In these times of distress, the Holy Rosary is our greatest defense, for our Blessed Mother has constantly stressed—even to the point of sacrifice—that we must pray, pray very much for sinners, lest they be lost forever (cf. Our Lady of Fatima, 1917). Through constant prayer, the heart becomes conformed to the will of God, and infinite grace begins to flow, dispelling the darkness that threatens to engulf the world. Thus, Jesus calls every soul to persevere in prayer, trusting that even the smallest act of love and intercession has eternal value.
Penance is a means of reparation for the sins committed against our Adorable Jesus. The Church has always taught that fasting, self-denial, and the offering of daily sufferings are powerful acts that console the Heart of Christ and obtain grace for the conversion of sinners (cf. Luke 13:5). In an era when sin is celebrated and virtue ridiculed, true disciples of Jesus must take up the call to interior mortification, uniting their sacrifices with His Passion. The spirit of reparation is urgently needed, for as evil grows to monstrous proportions, so must the love and sacrifice of the faithful rise in response.
The Eucharistic Sacrifice is the ultimate act of propitiation, being the source and summit of Christian life (cf. CCC 1324). In every Holy Mass, our Lord renews in our presence the sacrifice of our redemption and pours out infinite graces upon the Church and the world. The faithful are called to Holy Mass with a great spirit of devotion and should attend frequently, receiving the Holy Eucharist with profound reverence and ardent love. Participating in such an exalted act reveals that, in the entire warfare against evil, no weapon is as potent as uniting with Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, allowing His Real Presence to strengthen and sanctify the soul.
The warning of Jesus should awaken all souls to watchfulness and urgency. The forces of evil are relentless, but the victory belongs to Christ. We must remain firm in faith, anchored in prayer, and unwavering in trust. May the Immaculate Heart of Mary, our refuge in these troubled times, lead us ever closer to our Adorable Jesus and help us stand firm in the hour of trial.
Prayer
Oh our Adorable Jesus, in the midst of darkness, we cling to You. Strengthen us through prayer, penance, and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Shield us from evil, renew our hearts in Your love, and draw countless souls to Your mercy. May we remain faithful to You always.
Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, intercede for us.
