HOLY MASS READINGS FOR NOVEMBER 15, 2024

Friday of  the Thirty Second Week in Ordinary Weekday  (White)

Memorial of St. Albert the Great, Bishop and Doctor

LH: Office of  Memorial, Week IV

Mass and Preface of the Memorial

FIRST READING
“He who abides in the doctrine has both the Father and the Son.”
A reading from the second Letter of Saint John (2 John 4-9)

[Elect lady,] I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children following the truth, just as we have been commanded by the Father. And now I beg you, lady, not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning, that we love one another. And this is love, that we follow his commandments; this is the commandment, as you have heard from the beginning, that you follow love. For many deceivers have gone out into the world, men who will not acknowledge the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh; such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. Look to yourselves, that you may not lose what you have worked for, but may win a full reward. Any one who goes ahead and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God; he who abides in the doctrine has both the Father and the Son.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Psalm 119: 1.2.10.11.17. I b (R. lb)

R/. Blessed are those who walk in the law of the Lord!

Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the Lord! R/.

Blessed are those who keep his decrees!
With all their hearts they seek him. R/.

I have sought you with all my heart;
let me not stray from your commands. R/.
I treasure your word in my heart,
lest I sin against you. R/.

Deal bountifully with your servant,
that I may live and keep your word. R/.
Open my eyes, that I may see
the wonders of your law. R/.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
Luke 21:2b

Alleluia.

Look up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“So it will be on the day when the Son of man is revealed.”
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Luke 17:26-37)

At that time: Jesus said to his disciples, “As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of man. They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise as it was in the days of Lot— they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and brimstone rained from heaven and destroyed them all— so will it be on the day when the Son of man is revealed. On that day, let him who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away; and likewise let him who is in the field not turn back. Remember Lot’s wife. Whoever seeks to gain his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it. I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. There will be two women grinding together; one will be taken and the other left.” And they said to him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”

DIVINE APPEAL 140

ON THE EUCHARIST:A DIVINE APPEAL

(Revelation to Sr Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist)

VOLUME 1

“I speak so simply to you.”

“My daughter, listen to Me. Pray a great deal. I ask you to get used
to My Presence when My Presence takes hold of you tightly... You are
a victim in the Sacrament of My Love. You have to pray. I speak so
simply to you. I draw all your attention to pray. I lead and give you light.

I am thirsty. I care for you. Look at Me in prison. I am so lonely and
blasphemed.

My daughter, bring Me souls. Each soul is a part of My Love. I gave
all of Myself for mankind. Bring Me more souls. My Love is not a
global love. I do not wish anyone to perish. This is why I bring My
warning from My Divine Mercy. Time is short for saving souls.

The world has lost its senses. The good do not pray. The consecrated
souls have whipped Me and abused Me on all sides of My Presence.
I wait and long for each soul as if it was the only one on earth. For the
sake of souls look at Me always and give Me your oblation. Do not
lose any of this precious time for saving souls. In the Sacrament of
My Love keep Me in silence and give Me company. Dress the many
wounds caused by the consecrated souls. My invitation is for all.
As I am exposed I will pour the treasures of My infinite mercy into
human souls. Allow all your intentions to be a part of My intentions
for the sake of praying for souls. Do not fear to put yourself in the
high spirit of contemplation.”

“I give My blessing.”

HOLY MASS READINGS FOR NOVEMBER 14, 2024

Thursday of  the Thirty Second Week in Ordinary Weekday  (Green)

LH: Office of the Day, Week IV

Mass and Preface of the day

FIRST READING
Receive him, no longer as a slave, but as a beloved brother.
A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to Philemon (Philemon 7-20)

Beloved: I have derived much joy and comfort from your love, my brother, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you. Accordingly, though I am bold enough in Christ to command you to do what is required, yet for love’s sake I prefer to appeal to you — I, Paul, an ambassador and now a prisoner also for Christ Jesus — I appeal to you for my child, Onesimus, whose father I have become in my imprisonment. (Formerly he was useless to you, but new he is indeed useful to you and to me.) I am sending him back to you, sending my very heart. I would have been glad to keep him with me, in order that he might serve me on your behalf during my imprisonment for the gospel; but I preferred to do nothing without your consent in order that your goodness might not be by compulsion but of your own free will. Perhaps this is why he was parted from you for a while, that you might have him back for ever, no longer as a slave but more than a slave, as a beloved brother, especially to me but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord. So if you consider me your partner, receive him as you would receive me. If he has wronged you at all, or owes you anything, charge that to my account. I, Paul, write this with my own hand, I will repay it — to say nothing of your owing me even your own self. Yes, brother, I want some benefit from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in Christ.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Psalm 146:6c-7.8-9a.9bc-10 (R. 5a)

R/. Blessed is he who is helped by Jacob’s God.

It is the Lord who preserves fidelity forever,
who does justice to those who are oppressed.
It is he who gives bread to the hungry,
the Lord who sets prisoners free. R/.

It is the Lord who opens the eyes of the blind,
the Lord who raises up those who are bowed down.
It is the Lord who loves the just,
the Lord who protects the stranger. R/.

The Lord upholds the orphan and the widow,
but thwarts the path of the wicked.
The Lord will reign forever,
the God of Sion from age to age. R/.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
John 15:5

Alleluia.

I am the vine, you are the branches says the Lord. He who abides in me, and I in him, bears much fruit.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“The kingdom of God is in your midst. ”
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Luke 17:20-25)

At that time: Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, Jesus answered them, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed; nor will they say, ‘Behold, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ for behold, the kingdom of God is in your midst.” And he said to the disciples, “The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you will not see it. And they will say to you, ‘Behold, there!’ or ‘B hold, here!’ Do not go, do not follow them. For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of man be in his day. But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.”

HOLY MASS READINGS FOR NOVEMBER 12, 2024

Tuesday of  the Thirty Second Week in Ordinary Weekday  (Red)

Memorial of St. Josaphat, Bishop and Martyr

LH: Office of  Memorial, Week IV

Mass and Preface of the Memorial

FIRST READING
We must live godly lives, awaiting our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ.
A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to Titus (Titus 2.1-8. 11-14)

Beloved: Teach what befits sound doctrine. Bid the older men be temperate, serious, sensible, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. Bid the older women likewise to be reverent in behaviour, not to be slanderers or slaves to drink; they are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be sensible, chaste, domestic, kind, and submissive to their husbands, that the word of God may not be discredited. Likewise urge the younger men to control themselves. Show yourself in all respects a model of good deeds, and in your teaching show integrity, gravity, and sound speech that cannot be censured, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say of us. For the grace of God has appeared for the salvation of all men, training us to renounce irreligion and worldly passions, and to live sober, upright, and godly lives in this world, awaiting our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Ps 37:3-4.18 and 23.27 and 29 (R. 39a)

R/. From the Lord comes the salvation of the just.

Trust in the Lord and do good;
then you will dwell in the land
and safely pasture.
Find your delight in the Lord,
who grants your heart’s desire. R/.

The Lord takes note of the days of the blameless;
their heritage will last forever.
By the Lord are the steps made firm
of one in whose path He delights. R/.

Then turn away from evil and do good,
and you may abide forever.
The just shall inherit the land;
there they shall abide forever. R/.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION

John 14:23

Alleluia.

If a man loves me, he will keep my word, says the Lord; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“We are unworthy servants, we have only done what was our duty.”
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Luke 17:7- 10)

At that time: Jesus said, “Will any one of you, who has a servant ploughing or keeping sheep, say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down at table’? Will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare supper for me, and put on your apron and serve me, till I eat and drink; and afterward you shall eat and drink’? Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded? So you also, when you have done all that is commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty. ”’

HOLY MASS READINGS FOR NOVEMBER 11, 2024

Monday of  the Thirty Second Week in Ordinary Weekday  (White)

Memorial of St. Martin of  Tours

LH: Office of  Memorial, Week IV

Mass and Preface of the Memorial

FIRST READING
“Appoint elders as I directed you.”
The beginning of the Letter of Saint Paul to Titus (Titus 1:1-9)

Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth which accords with godliness, in hope of eternal life which God, who never lies, promised ages ago and at the proper time manifested in his word through the preaching with which I have been entrusted by command of God our Saviour; to Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour. This is why I left you in Crete, that you might amend what was defective, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you, if any man is blameless, the husband of one wife, and his children are believers and not open to the charge of debauchery and not being insubordinate. For a bishop, as God’s steward, must be blameless; he must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of goodness, master of himself, upright, holy, and self-controlled; he must hold firm to the sure word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to confute those who contradict it.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Psalm 24:1-2.3-4ab.5-6 (R. 6)

R/. These are the people who seek your face, O Lord.

The Lord’s is the earth and its fullness,
the world, and all who dwell in it.
It is he who set it on the seas;
on the rivers he made it firm. R/.

Who shall climb the mountain of the Lord?
Who shall stand in his holy place?
The clean of hands and pure of heart,
whose soul is not set on vain things. R/.

Blessings from the Lord Shall he receive,
and right reward from the God who saves him.
Such are the people who seek him,
Who seek the face of the God of Jacob. R/.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
Philippians 2:15d. 16a

Alleluia.

You will shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
If your brother turns to you seven times, and says, “I repent,” you must forgive him.
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Luke 17:1-6)

At that time: Jesus said to his disciples, “Temptations to sin are sure to come; but woe to him by whom they come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin. Take heed to yourselves; if your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him; and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, and say, “I repent,’ you must forgive him.” The apostles said to the Lord, “increase our faith!” And the Lord said, “if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this sycamore tree, ‘Be rooted up, and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”

Thirty Second Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B   (Green)

Mass of the Thirty Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

LH: Office of the Thirty Second Sunday, Week IV

Gloria, Creed, Preface of Sundays in Ordinary Time

FIRST READING
The widow made a little cake from her meal and brought it to Elijah.
A reading from the first Book of Kings (1 Kings 17:10-16)

In those days: Elijah [the prophet] arose and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks; and he called to her and said, “Bring me a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.” And as she was going to bring it, he called to her and said, “Bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.” And she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I have nothing baked, only a handful of meal in a jar, and a little oil in a pitcher; and now, I am gathering a couple of sticks, that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.” And Elijah said to her, “Fear not; go and do as you have said; but first make me a little cake of it and bring it to me, and after ward make for yourself and your son. For thus says the LORD the God of Israel, ‘The Jar of meal shall not be spent, and the pitcher of oil shall not fail, until the day that the LORD sends rain upon the earth.’” And she went and did as Elijah said; and she, and he, and her household ate for many days. The jar of meal was not spent, neither did the pitcher of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD which he spoke by Elijah.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Ps 146:6c-7.8-9a.9bc-10ab (R. 1b)

R/. Come, Lord, and save us.

SECOND READING
“Christ offered himself once to bear the sins of many.”
A reading from the Letter to the Hebrews (Hebrews 9:24-28)

Christ has entered, not into a sanctuary made with hands, a copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as he high priest enters the Holy place yearly with blood not his own; for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And just as it is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgement, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

The word of the Lord.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
Matthew 5:3

Alleluia.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“This poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury. ”
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark (Mark 12:38-44)

At that time: In his teaching Jesus said to the crowds, “Beware of the scribes, who like to go about in long robes, and to have salutations in the market places and the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honour at feasts, who devour widows’ houses and for a pretence make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.” And he sat down opposite the treasury, and watched the multitude putting money into the treasury. Many rich people put in large sums. And a poor widow came, and put in two copper coins, which make a penny. And he called his disciples to him, and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury. For they all contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, her whole living.”

RESTORING EUCHARISTIC REVERENCE

Divine Appeal Reflection - 139

Today, consider in Divine Appeal 139: "My Heart is broken in pain because I am so much abused in the Sacrament of My Love."

It should be evident that the sanctity of Christ's Eucharistic presence is revered in our churches. Outward manifestations of our recognition that we are in the presence of the King of Kings include little but meaningful gestures like genuflecting before the tabernacle. This gesture of respect serves as a reminder that our beloved Jesus is not just a figure but is actually here and waiting for our loyalty and affection. Dressing modestly for Mass is another way we can express our respect for the holy ground we tread upon. Just as we would prepare ourselves to meet someone of great importance, our attire for Holy Mass should reflect the dignity of the occasion. It is not about imposing rules but about showing love and honor for our Adorable Jesus, who humbled Himself to be present in the Eucharist.

A spirit of recollection should permeate our behavior inside the church. Silence in the sanctuary allows us to open our hearts to God, preparing our souls to receive His grace. Every whisper and distraction detracts from the sacred encounter that Jesus longs to have with us. Reverence is not confined to a few; it is a collective response to the divine mystery unfolding before our eyes at each Mass. Instilling in our children a deep sense of Eucharistic reverence stands among our most sacred duties. They learn by observing us. When they see us genuflect with sincerity, dress respectfully, and participate prayerfully, they absorb these actions as expressions of love for our Adorable Jesus. Passing on this treasure of faith is a legacy that will shape their relationship with Christ forever.

In a world that often forgets the sacred, we are gently urged to remember that Jesus, in His Sacrament of Love, patiently waits for our adoration and faith-filled contemplation. Taking time to encounter Him in this way is not a burden but a transformative act that nourishes both the Church and the world. The call to Eucharistic worship is an invitation to draw near to Christ, who longs for our hearts to meet His in love and reverence. We are called to make our churches places of deep encounter with the living God, not just spaces for community gathering.

Reverence begins in the heart but manifests in our actions. It deepens our personal relationship with our Adorable Jesus, nurtured through silent adoration, and is expressed through heartfelt participation in the Holy Mass. May our churches reflect this sacred reverence, and may our love for our Adorable Jesus in the Eucharist transform our hearts and inspire others to draw closer to His loving presence.

Prayer

O Adorable Jesus, present in the Most Holy Eucharist, grant us hearts filled with reverence, so we may worthily receive You and adore Your divine presence. Strengthen our faith and transform our churches into sanctuaries of true devotion, bringing souls closer to Your infinite love.

Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, intercede for us.

HOLY MASS READINGS FOR NOVEMBER 9, 2024

Saturday of  the Thirty First Week in Ordinary Weekday  (White)

Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica

LH: Office of the feast

Mass of the feast, Gloria, Preface of the Feast

FIRST READING
I saw water running from the temple, and all those to whom the water came were saved” (Ant. Vidi aquam).
A reading from the Book of the Prophet Ezekiel (Ezekiel 47: 1-2.8-9.12)

In those days: The angel brought me back to the door of the temple; and behold, water was issuing from below the threshold of the temple towards the east (for the temple faced east); and the water was flowing down from below the right side of the threshold of the temple, south of the altar. Then he brought me out by way of the north gate, and led me round on the outside to the outer gate, that faces towards the east; and the water was coming out on the right side. And he said to me, “This water flows towards the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah; and when it enters the stagnant waters of the sea, the water will become fresh. And wherever the river goes, every living creature which swarms will live, and there will be very many fish; for this water goes there, that the waters of the sea may become fresh; so everything will live where the river goes. “And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Psalm 46:2-3.5-6.8-9 (R.5)

R/. The waters of a river give joy to God’s city,
the holy place, the dwelling of the Most High.

God is for us a refuge and strength,
An ever-present help in time of distress:
So we shall not fear though the earth should rock,
though the mountains quake to the heart of the sea. R/.

The waters of a river give joy to God’s city,
The holy place, the dwelling of the Most High.
God is within, it cannot be shaken;
God will help it at the dawning of the day. R/.

R/. The waters of a river give joy to God’s city,
the holy place, the dwelling of the Most High.

The Lord of hosts is with us:
The God of Jacob is our stronghold.
Come and behold the works of the Lord,
The awesome deeds he has done on the earth. R/.

SECOND READING
You are God’s temple.
A reading from the first Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians (I Corinthians 3:9c-11.16-17)

Brethren: You are God’s building. According to the commission of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and another man is building upon it. Let each man take care how he builds upon it. For no other foundation can any one lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If any one destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and that temple you are.

The word of the Lord.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
2 Chronicles 7:16

Alleluia.

I have chosen and consecrated this house, says the Lord, that my name may be there for ever.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
He spoke of the temple of his body.
A reading from the holy Gospel according to John (John 2:13-22)

The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers at their business. And making a whip of cords, he drove them all, with the sheep and oxen, out of the temple; and he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; you shall not make my Father’s house a house of trade.” His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.” The Jews then said to him, “What sign have you to show us for doing this?” Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?” But he spoke of the temple of his body. When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.

HOLY MASS READINGS FOR NOVEMBER 8, 2024

Friday of  the Thirty First Week in Ordinary Weekday  (Green)

LH: Office of the Day, Week III

Mass and Preface of the day

FIRST READING
“We await a savior who will change our lonely body to be like his glorious body”
A reading from the letter of St Paul to the Philippians (Philippians 3:17-4:1)

Brethren, join in imitating me, and mark those who so walk as you have an example in us. For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their ends is destruction, their god is the belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things. But our commonwealth is in heaven, and from it we await a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will change our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power which enables him even to subject all things to himself. Therefore, my brethren, whom I love and long for, for my joy and crown, stand firm in this way in the Lord, my beloved.

The word of the Lord.

Responsorial Psalm
Ps122:1-2, 3-4ab, 4cd-5 (R. see 1)

R/. Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.

I rejoiced when they said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
And now our feet are standing
Within your gates, O Jerusalem. R/.

Jerusalem is built as a city
Bonded as one together.
It is there that the tribes go up,
The tribes of the Lord. R/.

For Israel’s witness it is
To praise the name of the Lord.
There were set the thrones for judgement,
The thrones of the house of David. R/.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
1 John 2:5

Alleluia.

Whoever keeps Christ’s word, in him truly love for God is perfected.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“Sons of this world are wiser in their own generation than the sons of light.”
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Luke 16:1-8)

At that time: Jesus said to the disciples, “There was a rich man who had a steward, and charges were brought to him that this man was wasting his goods. And he called him and said to him, ‘What is this that I hear about you? Turn in the account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward.’ “And the steward said to himself, ‘What shall I do, since my master is taking the stewardship away from me? I am not strong enough to dig, and I am ashamed to beg. I have decided what to do, so that people may receive me into their houses when I am put out of the stewardship.’ So, summoning his master’s debtors one by one, he said to the first, ‘How much do you owe my master?’ “He said, ‘A hundred measures of oil.’ “And he said to him, ‘Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.’ “Then he said to another, ‘And how much do you owe?’ “He said, ‘A hundred measures of wheat.’ “He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’ “The master commended the dishonest steward for his prudence; for the sons of this world are wiser in their own generation than the sons of light.”

HOLY MASS READINGS FOR NOVEMBER 7, 2024

Thursday of  the Thirty First Week in Ordinary Weekday  (Green)

LH: Office of the Day, Week III

Mass and Preface of the day

FIRST READING
“Whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ.”
A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Philippians (Philippians 3:3-8a)

Brethren: We are the true circumcision, who worship God in spirit, and glory in Christ Jesus, and put no confidence in the flesh. Though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also. If any other man thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew born of Hebrews; as to the law a Pharisee, as to zeal a persecutor of the Church, as to righteousness under the law blameless. But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Psalm 105.2-3.4-5.6-7 (R. 3b)

R/. Let the hearts that seek the Lord rejoice.

O sing to him, sing his praise;
tell all his wonderful works!
Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts that seek the LORD rejoice. R/.

Turn to the Lord and his strength;
constantly seek his face.
Remember the wonders he has done,
his marvels and his words of judgement. R/.

O children of Abraham, his servant,
O descendants of the Jacob he chose,
he, the Lord, is our God;
his judgements are in all the earth. R/.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION

Matthew 11:28

Alleluia.

Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest, says the Lord.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“There is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Luke 15: 1-10)

At that time: The tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear Jesus. And the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.” So he told them this parable: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbours, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbours, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin which I had lost. ’ Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

HOLY MASS READINGS FOR NOVEMBER 6, 2024

Wednesday of  the Thirty First Week in Ordinary Weekday  (Green)

LH: Office of the Day, Week III

Mass and Preface of the day

FIRST READING
“Work out your own salvation; God is at work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.”
A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Philippians (Philippians 2: 12-18)

My beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for God is at work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labour in vain. Even if I am to be poured as a libation upon the sacrificial offering of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all. Likewise you also should be glad and rejoice with me.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Psalm 27:1.4.13-14 (R. la)

R/. The Lord is my light and my salvation.

The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
whom should I dread? R/.

There is one thing I ask of the Lord,
only this do I seek:
to live in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord,
to inquire at his temple. R/.

I believe I shall see the Lord’s goodness
in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord; be strong;
be stout hearted, and wait for the Lord! R/.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
1 Peter 4: 14

Alleluia.

If you are reproached for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of God rests upon you.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“Whoever of you does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.”
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Luke 14:25-33)

At that time: Great multitudes accompanied Jesus; and he turned and said to them, “If any one comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple. For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build, and was not able to finish.’ Or what king, going to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and take counsel whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an embassy and asks terms of peace. So therefore, whoever of you does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.”

HOLY MASS READINGS FOR NOVEMBER 5, 2024

Tuesday of  the Thirty First Week in Ordinary Weekday  (Green)

LH: Office of the Day, Week III

Mass and Preface of the day

FIRST READING
“He humbled himself, therefore God has highly exalted him.”
A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Philippians (Philippians 2:5- 11)

Brethren: Have this mind among yourselves, which was in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Ps 22:26b-27.28.29-3tl.3 1-32 (R. 26a)

R/. You are my praise, Lord, in the great assembly.

My vows I will pay before those who fear him.
The poor shall eat and shall have their fill.
They shall praise the Lord, those who seek him.
May their hearts live on forever and ever! R/.

All the earth shall remember and return to the Lord,
all families of the nations worship before him. R/.

For the kingdom is the Lord’s, he is ruler of the nations.
They shall worship him, all the mighty of the earth;
before him shall bow all who go down to the dust. R/.

And my soul shall live for him, my descendants serve him.
They shall tell of the Lord to generations yet to come,
declare his saving justice to peoples yet unborn:
“These are the things the Lord has done.” R/.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
Matthew 11:28

Alleluia.

Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest, says the Lord.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“Go out to the highways and hedges, and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled.”
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Luke 14:15-24)

At that time: One of those who sat at table with Jesus said to him, “Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God!” But he said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet, and invited many; and at the time for the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come; for all is now ready.’ “But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it; please, have me excused.’ “And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them; please, have me excused.’ “And another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. ’ “So the servant came and reported this to his master. Then the householder in anger said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly to the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor and maimed and blind and lame. ’ “And the servant said, ‘Sir, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room. ’ “And the master said to the servant, 'Go out to the highways and hedges, and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled. For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste my banquet. ”’

Memorial of St. Charles Borromeo, Bishop

LH: Office of the Memorial, Week III

Mass and Preface of the Memorial

FIRST READING
“Complete my joy by being of the same mind.”
A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Philippians (Philippians 2: 1- 4)

Brethren: If there is any encouragement in Christ, any incentive of love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfishness or conceit, but in humility count others better than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Psalm 131:1.2.3

R/. Keep my soul in peace at your side, O Lord.

O Lord, my heart is not proud,
nor haughty my eyes.
I have not gone after things too great,
nor marvels beyond me. R/.

Truly, I have set my soul
in tranquillity and silence.
As a weaned child on its mother,
as a weaned child is my soul within me. R/.

O Israel, wait for the Lord,
both now and forever. R/.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
John 8:31b-32

Alleluia.

If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, says the Lord.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
Do not invite your friends, but the poor and the maimed.
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Luke 14:12-14)

At that time: Jesus said to the ruler who belonged to the Pharisees, who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your kinsmen or rich neighbours, lest they also invite you in return, and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. You will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”

DIVINE APPEAL 139

ON THE EUCHARIST:A DIVINE APPEAL

(Revelation to Sr Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist)

VOLUME 1

“When I instituted the Sacrament, I knew that a day would be
reached when I would be so much blasphemed and abused by the
souls I love so much.”

“My daughter, listen to Me. Pray a great deal. I come here to
seek shelter. As you hear My voice always, the quietness which
follows is in Me. Never grow weary of Me. When you call Me
I am always here listening in the Sacrament of My Love.
I am a stranger in the prison of My tabernacle. I remain day and
night waiting for souls. I am always thirsty for souls. Bring Me souls
in your prayers. In your sufferings learn from My courage in the
Sacrament of My Love. When I instituted the Sacrament I knew
that a day would be reached when I would be so much blasphemed
and abused by the souls I love so much. In My Mercy you will find
the source of light and love. Pray a great deal. Atone. My Heart
bleeds in this grave hour. Do not be afraid. I beg you to carry out
My direction and give Me the hours that I beg for the good of souls.
Listen to My suffering call. Do not lose any of these precious times.
Write My words and pray. I can do all things. Never doubt. With an
anguished heart I come here to seek shelter. I am calling everyone
to be converted.

In the Sacrament of My Love I am so lonely and blasphemed. Like
Judas the souls consecrated to Me betray Me day and night. With
unlimited tears in My Heart I give the warning from My Divine
Mercy. Souls are to be converted through prayer and my Sacrament.
The demon is disposed to mislead souls. Pray a great deal. Bring Me
Souls. I am thirsty for souls that I love so much.

In this sacrilegious struggle, much of which has been created by man
will be demolished due to both savage impulses and aggrandisement.
My Heart is broken in pain because I am so much abused in the
Sacrament of My Love. I have no rest. Keep Me in silence.
Good people suffer and are so much persecuted by justice. They
have nothing to fear because one day they will be separated from the
impious and obstinate sinners who persecute them. What a pain for
Me to see so much bloodshed in the world. It is a great desolation.
Pray a great deal. In the Sacrament of My Love you are a victim. I
close Myself in waiting and longing for the souls to come and repent
before it is too late. How can I save the souls if they do not listen
to Me? Look at My pains! I am reduced to such a state of pitiable
disfigurement for the souls of mankind. Pray and quench My thirst.”

“I give My blessing.”

HOLY MASS READINGS FOR NOVEMBER 3, 2024

Thirty First Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B   (Green)

Mass of the Thirty First Sunday in Ordinary Time

LH: Office of the Thirty First Sunday, Week III

Gloria, Creed, Preface of Sundays in Ordinary Time

FIRST READING
“Head: O Israel, you shall love the Lord with all your heart.”
A reading from the Book of Deuteronomy (Deuteronomy 6:2-6)

Moses spoke to the people, saying, “Fear the Lord your God, you and your son and your son’s son, by keeping all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, all the days of your life; that your days may be prolonged. Hear therefore, O Israel, and be careful to do them; that it may go well with you, and that you may multiply greatly, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey. “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, anal with all your might. And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart.”

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Ps 18:2-3a, 3bc—4.47 and 51 ab (R. 2)

R/. I love you, Lord, my strength.

I love you, Lord, my strength;
O Lord, my rock, my fortress, my saviour. R/.

My God, my rock where I take refuge;
my shield, my saving strength, my stronghold.
I cry out, “Praised be the Lord!”
and see, I am saved from my foes. R/.

The Lord lives, and blest be my Rock!
May the God of my salvation be exalted.
The Lord gives great victories to his king,
and shows merciful love for his anointed. R/.

SECOND READING
“He holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues for ever.”
A reading from the Letter to the Hebrews (Hebrews 7:23-28)

Brethren: The priests [of the former covenant] were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office; but Christ holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues for ever. Consequently he is able for all time to save those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them. For it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, blameless, unstained, separated from sinners, exalted above the heavens. He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people; he did this once for all when he offered up himself. Indeed, the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect for ever.

The word of the Lord.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
John 14:23

Alleluia.

If a man loves me, he will keep my word; says the Lord; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“You shall love the Lord your God. You shall love your neighbour. ”
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark (Mark 12:28b-34)

At that time: One of the scribes came up to Jesus and asked him, “Which commandment is the first of all?” Jesus answered, “The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” And the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher; you have truly said that he is one, and there is no other but he; and to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbour as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And after that no one dared to ask him any question.

HOLY MASS READINGS FOR NOVEMBER 2, 2024

Saturday of the Thirtieth Week in Ordinary Time   (Purple)

Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed

LH: Office of the Dead

Mass and Preface of the Dead

FIRST READING
He accepted them like a sacrificial burnt offering.
A reading from the Book of Wisdom (Wisdom 3:1-9c)

The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them. In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be an affliction, and their going from us to be their destruction; but they are at peace. For though in the sight of men they were punished, their hope is full of immortality. Having been disciplined a little, they will receive great good, because God tested them and found them worthy of himself; like gold in the furnace he tried them, and like a sacrificial burnt offering he accepted them. In the time of their visitation they will shine forth, and will run like sparks through the stubble. They will govern nations and rule over peoples, and the Lord will reign over them for ever. Those who trust in him will understand truth, and the faithful will abide with him in love, because grace and mercy are upon his elect.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Psalm 23: 1-3, 4, 5, 6 (R/.1 or 4)

R/. The Lord is my shepherd, there is nothing I shall want.

OR:

R/. Though I should walk in the valley of the shadow of death, no evil would I fear,
for you are with me.

The Lord is my shepherd;
there is nothing I shall want.
Fresh and green are the pastures
where he gives me repose.
Near restful waters he leads me;
he revives my soul. R/.

He guides me along the right path,
for the sake of his name.
Though I should walk in the valley of the shadow of death,
no evil would I fear, for you are with me.
Your crook and your staff will give me comfort. R/.

You have prepared a table before me
in the sight of my foes.
My head you have anointed with oil;
my cup is overflowing. R/.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life.
In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell
for length of days unending. R/.

SECOND READING
“Since we are now justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.”
A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Romans (Romans 5:5-11)

Brethren: Hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. While we were yet helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Why, one will hardly die for a righteous man— though perhaps for a good man one will dare even to die. But God shows his love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we are now justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. Not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

The word of the Lord.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
Matthew 11:25

Alleluia.

Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the kingdom.

Alleluia.

OR

Come, O blessed of my Father, says the Lord; inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven.”
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew (Matthew 5: 1-12a)

At that time: Seeing the crowds, Jesus went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him. And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven.”

The Gospel of the Lord.

OR

GOSPEL READING

Every one who believes in the Son should have eternal life, and will raise him up at the last day.
A reading from the holy Gospel according to John (John 6:37-40)

At that time: Jesus said to the crowds, “All that the Father gives me will come to me; and him who comes to me I will not cast out. For I have. come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me; and this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up at the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that every one who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

REALITY OF THE DEVIL'S NATURE

Divine Appeal Reflection - 138

Today, consider in Divine Appeal 138: "Encourage yourself in Me. The devil has no kindness. Be brave. I give you all the strength to pray. Take time for Me."

The Bible describes the devil as the epitome of deception and malevolence, whose intent is to lead souls away from God. Our Adorable Jesus Himself refers to the devil as a liar and the father of lies, emphasizing that there is no truth in him (John 8:44). This depiction reveals that the devil’s essence is entirely opposed to kindness, goodness, and love. Unlike God, who is infinite love and mercy, the devil's sole objective is to sow discord, cause harm, and draw souls into spiritual ruin.

The devil uses one of his most cunning strategies, which is to make temptations seem innocent or even desirable. Tricks of serenity and false comfort are nothing more than snares set out to catch and mislead souls. Because of this, Christians must always keep in mind that any solace or happiness the devil gives is fundamentally false. The devil frequently poses as an angel of light, according to Scripture (2 Corinthians 11:14), which implies that things that appear pleasant or consoling may actually be concealing more serious spiritual threats. The statement “The devil has no kindness” thus unmasks these illusions, urging Christians to be wary of anything that does not align with God’s truth and commandments.

Understanding that the devil is incapable of genuine kindness highlights the importance of discernment in the Christian life. St. John advises souls to test every spirit to see if it comes from God (1 John 4:1). This discernment is crucial, as it helps distinguish between what is inspired by divine goodness and what is rooted in the devil’s deceit. True kindness, love, and peace are always consistent with God’s teachings of selfless love and virtue. If an experience, idea, or influence contradicts the Gospel’s call to holiness, it should be seen as suspect.

Yet, amid these reflections on the devil’s relentless pursuit, there is hope and assurance in Christ. Jesus’ promise, “I give you all the strength to pray,” reminds us that we are not left defenseless. God’s grace enables us to persevere and overcome the enemy’s schemes with courage and trust. While we recognize the reality that “the devil has no kindness,” this awareness should lead us to cling even more to the boundless kindness and love of our Adorable Jesus. The power of His Word, the support of the sacraments, and His unwavering presence provide all that we need to resist the devil and remain faithful (James 4:7)

Prayer

Our Adorable Jesus, grant us the grace to recognize Your infinite love and truth. Shield us from the deceptions of the evil one, who has no kindness. Strengthen us in prayer, guide our hearts with Your light, and keep us steadfast in faith. We trust in Your boundless mercy and protection.

Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, intercede for us.

DIVINE APPEAL 138

ON THE EUCHARIST:A DIVINE APPEAL

(Revelation to Sr Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist)

VOLUME 1

“I pour My tears of blood over mankind. I want to bring it back but
it refuses My words.” “The devil has no kindness.”

“My daughter, listen to Me and write My words. I am thirsty. I collect
miseries and make glorious things out of them. Pray a great deal.
Spend this dark hour with Me. I am so lonely. I come here to
seek shelter. I assure you I am very thirsty, more than how the
desert burns. Pains and wounds are caused in My Presence
more by the souls I consecrated. What more could I have suffered
for mankind! For the sake of souls I lead you in silence and solitude
so that you may bring Me more souls in your prayers. Bring Me
everything. From My great love for mankind I give My warnings.
I am patiently waiting for souls. Bending over the world I pour My
tears of blood over mankind. I want to bring it back but it refuses
My words. I am agonised to see souls falling into perdition, in the
frontline are those consecrated to Me. I speak to My beloved servant.
I bless him so that he is able to continue to reach out to souls. I hide
Myself in him in order to speak out and assure souls before it is too
late. Blessed are those who hear My words and return to the shelter
of My Love. It was My great Love for mankind that keeps Me a
prisoner in the tabernacles. I need the desire for reparation.

I am so much blasphemed and ridiculed mostly by the souls
consecrated to Me. I do not stay where I am not welcomed. Pray
a great deal and atone for souls. Give Me company in My lonely
prison. I remain patient longing for souls. I come here to seek shelter
and I find My rest. For the sake of souls put yourself in the high
spirit of contemplation. Heed the words from My servant. Do not be
afraid. Pray and atone. Encourage yourself in Me. The devil has no
kindness. Be brave. I give you all the strength to pray. Take time
for Me. Dress the wounds caused by consecrated souls.

Pray a great deal.”

“I bless you.”

HOLY MASS READINGS FOR NOVEMBER 1, 2024

Friday of the Thirtieth Week in Ordinary Time   (White)

Solemnity of All Saints

LH: Office of the Solemnity

Mass of the Solemnity, Gloria, Creed, Preface of All Saints

FIRST READING
I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no man could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and tongues.
A reading from the Book of Revelation (Revelation 7:2-4, 9-14)

I, John, saw another angel ascend from the rising of the sun, with the seal of the living God, and he called with a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm earth and sea, saying, “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God upon their foreheads.” And I heard the number of the sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand sealed, out of every tribe of the sons of Israel. After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no man could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb!” And all the angels stood round the throne and round the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshipped God, saying, “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honour and power and might be to our God for ever and ever! Amen.” Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where they have come?” I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Psalm 24:1-2, 3-4ab, 5-6(R.cf. 6a)

R/. These are the people who seek your face, O Lord.

The Lord’s is the earth and its fullness,
the world, and all who dwell in it.
It is he who set it on the seas;
on the rivers he made it firm.

SECOND READING
We shall see God as he is.
A reading from the first Letter of Saint John (1 John 3:1 -3)

Beloved: See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God’s children now; it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. And every one who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.

The word of the Lord.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
Matthew 11:28

Alleluia.

Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest, says the Lord.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew (Matthew 5:1-12a)

At that time: Seeing the crowds, Jesus went up on the mountain, and when he sat down his disciples came to him. And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven.

HOLY MASS READINGS FOR OCTOBER 31, 2024

Thursday of  the Thirtieth Week in Ordinary Weekday  (Green)

LH: Office of the Day, Week II

Mass and Preface of the day

FIRST READING
“Take the whole armour of God, that you may be able, having done all, to stand. ”
A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians (Ephesians 6: 10-20)

Finally, brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having fastened the belt of truth around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the equipment of the gospel of peace; above all taking the shield of faith, with which you can quench all the flaming darts of the Evil One. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that utterance may be given me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Psalm 144: 1.2.9-10 (R. 1 a)

R/. Blest be the Lord, my rock.

Blest be the Lord, my rock,
who trains my hands for battle,
who prepares my fingers for war. R/.

He is my merciful love, my fortress;
he is my stronghold, my saviour,
my shield in whom I take refuge.
He brings peoples under my rule. R/.

To you, O God, will I sing a new song;
I will play on the ten-stringed harp to you
who give kings their victory,
who set David your servant free from the evil sword. R/.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
Luke 19:38; 2: 14

Alleluia.

Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord; peace on earth, and glory in the highest.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“It cannot be that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem. ”
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Luke 13:31-35)

On that day some Pharisees came, and said to Jesus, “Get away from here, for Herod wants to kill you.” And he said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I finish my course. Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the day following; for it cannot be that a prophet should perish away from Jerusalem. ’ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to you! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not! Behold, your house is forsaken. And I tell you, you will not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! ”’

GUARDING AGAINST EVIL

Divine Appeal Reflection - 137

Today, consider in Divine Appeal 137: "The devil is in all ways wounding you. Do not allow yourself to be in his possession."

Reflecting on Jesus’ warning, “The devil is in all ways wounding you,” we are made aware of the relentless and all-encompassing nature of spiritual warfare. The adversary uses every possible tactic to harm our souls, erode our determination, and divert us from God's love and truth. Our Adorable Jesus demonstrates that the devil's attacks are not sporadic but rather ongoing. This expression emphasizes the devil's subtle yet ubiquitous influence, which aims to permeate every part of our existence and create doubt, fear, and uncertainty.

This warning aligns with the Church’s teaching on the reality of evil and the devil’s unceasing efforts to separate souls from God (CCC 407). These wounds can manifest as inner struggles, anxieties, and temptations that seem overwhelming—all aimed at eroding our trust in God. Through such ongoing attacks, the devil attempts to drive a wedge between us and the peace and grace that can only be found in a deep, committed relationship with Christ.

Our Adorable Jesus invites us through His words to strengthen our spiritual defenses, reminding us that, although the devil’s attempts are relentless, God’s grace is infinitely more powerful. We are called to remain vigilant, arming ourselves through prayer and the sacraments. St. Paul speaks of the need to “put on the whole armor of God” so that we may stand firm against spiritual assaults (Ephesians 6:11), fortifying our souls against each subtle or overt wound the devil seeks to inflict.

In hearing Jesus’ appeal, “The devil is in all ways wounding you,” we are encouraged to take seriously the call to a life of spiritual discipline, relying wholly on God’s grace and protection. Through prayer, frequent confession, and devotion to the Eucharist, we draw from the strength of our Adorable Jesus to face every attack. With Christ as our shield and our refuge, we can stand unshaken, trusting in His promise to protect, heal, and guide us on the path to holiness.

Prayer

Our Adorable Jesus, we seek refuge in Your Sacred Heart. Protect us from the devil’s wounds, strengthen our resolve, and fill us with Your grace. Grant us vigilance in prayer and devotion to the Eucharist, that we may stand firm against all evil, trusting in Your unfailing love.

Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, intercede for us.

DIVINE APPEAL 137

ON THE EUCHARIST:A DIVINE APPEAL

(Revelation to Sr Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist)

VOLUME 1

“As I am exposed, I will pour the treasures of My infinite MERCY
into human souls.”

“My daughter, come with Me. The devil is in all ways wounding you.
Do not allow yourself to be in his possession. Listen to Me. I lead and
direct you.

When you pray for souls nothing is lost. You cannot see it but I see
it. Watch with Me in the Sacrament of My Love. I am very thirsty.
Hunt souls for Me. My thirst is more than the thirst of mankind. Pray
a great deal. Time is short for saving souls. I do not wish anyone to
perish. When a soul goes to perdition it is eternally lost.

In the Sacrament of My Love, I need the desire of reparation from
the souls of good will. As I am exposed I will pour the treasures of
My infinite mercy into human souls. I am forced to walk in the midst
of the milling crowds with My tears of blood. I am a prisoner of My
tabernacle. I feel a stranger to the souls I love so much. Pray and
atone to appease the wrath of My Eternal Father.

Mankind has lost its senses. From My Divine Mercy I give My
warnings which will be followed by Divine Justice.”

“I bless you.”

HOLY MASS READINGS FOR OCTOBER 30, 2024

Wednesday of  the Thirtieth Week in Ordinary Weekday  (Green)

LH: Office of the Day, Week II

Mass and Preface of the day

FIRST READING
“Not as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ.”
A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians (Ephesians 6:1-9)

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honour your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Slaves, be obedient to those who are your earthly masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as to Christ; not in the way of eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, rendering service with a good will as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that whatever good any one does, he will receive the same again from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free. Masters, do the same to them, and forbear threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM
Ps 145: 10- 11.12-13ab.13cd-14 (R. 13c)

R/. The Lord is faithful in all his words.

All your works shall thank you, O Lord,
and all your faithful ones bless you.
They shall speak of the glory of your reign,
and declare your mighty deeds. R/.

They shall make known your might to the children of men,
and the glorious splendour of your reign.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom;
your rule endures for all generations. R/.

The Lord is faithful in all his words,
and holy in all his deeds.
The Lord supports all who fall,
and raises up all who are bowed down. R/.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
2 Thessalonians 2: 14

Alleluia.

God has called us through the Gospel, to obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“Men will come from east and west, and sit at table in the kingdom of God.”
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Luke 13:22-30)

At that time: Jesus went on his way through towns and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. And some one said to him, “Lord, will those who are saved be few?” And he said to them, “Strive to enter by the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the householder has risen up and shut the door, you will begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us. ’ “He will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’ “Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets. ’“But he will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you come from; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity!’ There you will weep and gnash your teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God and you yourselves thrust out. And men will come from east and west, and from north and south, and sit at table in the kingdom of God. And behold, some are last who will be first, and some are first who will be last.”

HOLY MASS READINGS FOR OCTOBER 29, 2024

Tuesday of  the Thirtieth Week in Ordinary Weekday  (Green)

LH: Office of the Day, Week II

Mass and Preface of the day

FIRST READING
“This is a great mystery, and I mean in reference to Christ and the Church.”
A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians (Ephesians5:21-33)

Brethren: Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, be subject to your husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the Church, his body, and is himself its Saviour. As the Church is subject to Christ, so let wives also be subject in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the Church to himself in splendour, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. Even so husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no man ever hates his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, as Christ does the Church, because we are members of his body. “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This is a great mystery, and I mean in reference to Christ and the Church; however, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM

Psalm128:1-2.3.4.5 (R. 1a)

R/. Blessed are all who fear the Lord.

Blessed are all who fear the Lord
And walk in his way!
By the labour of your hands you shall eat.
You will be blessed and prosper. R/.

Your wife like a fruitful vine
in the heart of your house;
your children like shoots of the olive
around your table. R/.

Indeed thus shall be blessed
the man who fears the Lord.
May the Lord bless you from Sion.
May you see Jerusalem prosper
all the days of your life! R/.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
Matthew 11:25

Alleluia.

Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the kingdom.

Alleluia.

GOSPEL
“The seed grew and became a tree. ”
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (Luke 13: 15-21)

At that time: Jesus said, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and sowed in his garden; and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.” And again he said, “To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? It is like leaven which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till it was all leavened.”
