Divine Appeal Reflection - 142
Today, consider in Divine Appeal 142: "Pray and atone so as to appease this wrath before it is too late. Participate in the sacrifice of the Holy Mass for atonement."
The catholic faith views atonement as the sacred effort of seeking God's forgiveness and atoning for sin. Through His suffering, death, and resurrection, our Adorable Jesus offered His life on the Cross, making the ultimate atonement for all of humanity. His flawless offering mended the rift in our connection with God and made it possible for us to be saved and have our sins forgiven. The unbloody symbol of this sacrifice is the Holy Mass, which still bestows grace on the faithful. We are called to join Christ in his prayers, intentions, and sacrifices when we attend Mass, offering ourselves as atonement for the world's sins. This is a wonderful chance to join the Church in asking for the salvation of all souls and to realize our need for God's mercy.
The deep mystery of atonement is the sacrifice of the Holy Mass. The Sacrifice of Christ is once more made present in the altar through this holy liturgy. As the priest declares, the same sacrifice that was made at Calvary is being offered once more for the salvation of humanity: "This is My Body... This is My Blood." Our Adorable Jesus continues to place Himself for the forgiveness of sins, thereby enabling us to unite our hearts with His by participating in this holy offering. We should not only profit from such grace but also give our own sacrifices, prayers, and reparation for the sins of the world, most especially for those who do not care about God's love and mercy.
Attending the Holy Mass of Atonement necessitates a profound feeling of intention and reverence. We should prepare our souls in prayer and present ourselves to God in humility and repentance before we attend Mass. We are encouraged to actively participate in the liturgy during Mass by paying close attention to God's Word and reacting with devotion and thankfulness. Our communion with Christ becomes an act of atonement itself when we receive Him in the Eucharist with a contrite heart and pray for His grace and pardon.
Prayer
O Adorable Jesus, we humbly offer our prayers, sacrifices, and acts of reparation to atone for our sins and those of the world. Through Your great mercy, may our participation in the Holy Mass draw us closer to You, bringing healing and reconciliation. We entrust ourselves to Your Sacred Heart, seeking Your grace and forgiveness for all.
Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, intercede for us.
