Divine Appeal Reflection - 132
Today, consider in Divine Appeal 132: "My Divine Mercy will be followed by Divine Justice."
God’s mercy is an unfathomable gift, extended to every soul by our Adorable Jesus, offering a profound opportunity for conversion. When the time of mercy is over, every soul will receive according to what they have done, whether good or bad. We should cling to the mercy of God while it is still accessible because of this sacred truth. However, this divine mercy does not eliminate the reality of divine justice. It does not erase the consequences of our sins, but it gives us time to repentance and return to God. As Sacred Scripture reveals, no one can mock God, for whatever one sows, they will also reap (Galatians 6:7). In the end, God's justice will ensure that truth is fully revealed in the end, and each soul will be judged according to their works. Jesus’ warning calls us to cultivate a deeper awareness of our obligation to live according to God’s commandments.
Today's spiritual tragedy is the neglect of the sacrament of confession, which is the direct channel of God's mercy through our Adorable Jesus. Confession restores us to sanctifying grace, cleansing our souls and drawing us closer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that this sacrament not only remits sin but also restores the penitent to spiritual health (CCC 1468). Yet, countless souls fail to partake of this sacrament, whether due to fear, spiritual indifference, or a lack of understanding of its necessity.
Our Adorable Jesus, in His Divine Appeal 132, beckons us to make the best out of this time of mercy.. The Bible reminds us that the acceptable time to return to the Lord is now, because today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). Delaying repentance or neglecting the Sacrament of Confession is a spiritual gamble that could lead to eternal loss, for we do not know when the time of mercy will end, and Divine Justice will be revealed. The Catechism teaches that while God's kindness is boundless, He does not impose His forgiveness on those who choose not to seek it (CCC 1864). Through the grace of Confession, we open our hearts to the mercy of God, allowing Him to cleanse, sanctify, and prepare us for the final judgment when we will stand before our Divine Judge, confident in His mercy and justice (2 Corinthians 5:10). We should, therefore, participate in the Sacrament with devotion and respect and always remain in the state of grace.
Prayer
Our Adorable Jesus, in Your infinite mercy, cleanse our souls and draw us ever closer to Your Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament. Grant us the grace of true repentance and deep humility. May we never turn away from Your love but embrace Your mercy daily, trusting in Your justice and compassion.
Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, intercede for us.
