SERVICE ROOTED IN THE LOVE FOR JESUS

Divine Appeal Reflection  - 125

Today, consider in Divine Appeal 125: "Do not be afraid. Serve Me and give Me shelter in which to rest. It is time to pray and reach the consciences of souls."

To be a faithful friend of our Adorable Jesus is to accept His humble and unselfish example. Jesus showed us that genuine greatness comes from serving others in humility, even as the King of Kings. He taught His disciples that the greatest among them should serve others, a lesson He exemplified by washing their feet (John 13:14–15). Serving Jesus in this life entails taking on a meek attitude and considering the interests of others before our own. We serve our Adorable Jesus when we assist those in need, comfort the grieving, and uplift the hopeless.

Serving our Adorable Jesus begins with loving Him deeply. We serve Him because we adore Him and know that He is the source of all goodness and grace. His love for us, shown through His sacrifice, moves us to serve Him in return. This love changes the way we live, making every moment a chance to serve Jesus. When we serve others, whether through small acts of kindness or helping those in need, we are serving our Adorable Jesus. We assume the role of Christ's hands and feet in the world, demonstrating His service and love by deeds.

Service also calls us to sacrifice. We are called to give of ourselves in service to Jesus and others, just as He gave all for us. To assist someone in need, we may have to give up our comfort, time, or resources. It might mean bearing with patience and love the difficulties we encounter in serving others. Every sacrifice made in love is an offering to our Adorable Jesus, who sees and cherishes even the smallest act done for His glory. May we give our all to our Adorable Jesus, giving Him every act of kindness, humility, and sacrifice as a gift to Him. May we constantly keep in mind that by serving the least of His brethren, we are actually serving Christ Himself, and may our lives be a reflection of His love.

Prayer

O Adorable Jesus, may Your love and humility dwell deeply in our hearts. Teach us to serve You in every act of kindness, sacrifice, and compassion. Help us to see You in those we serve and guide us to follow Your example of self-giving love. May our lives glorify You always.

Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, intercede for us.
