RECOLLECTION WITH OUR ADORABLE JESUS

Divine Appeal Reflection  - 124

Today, consider in Divine Appeal 124: "Make silence reign in your innermost being. Bring Me souls. I am in search of love. I am thirsting for souls.”

The practice of frequent recollection becomes a divine imperative in answering this call. It is the sacred silence of the heart that allows us to hear the whisper of His love, to experience the burning desire of His Eucharistic Heart for souls. In a world that clamors for our attention, recollection is the key to entering into that inner sanctuary where our Adorable Jesus, fully present in the Blessed Sacrament, waits for us. In the sacred space of holy silence, we become more fully aware of His real presence within us, inviting Him to reign as our King and Redeemer. This profound reality, as we are reminded by the teachings of Scripture, reveals that we are the dwelling place of God’s Spirit (cf. 1 Cor 3:16). The indwelling of Christ is not merely a passive truth but a living and active reality. It calls us to a deeper recollection so that Christ's reign within our hearts may bear abundant fruit in our lives and in the world.

As St. Teresa of Ávila teaches, recollection is the gathering of the soul into the awareness of God’s presence. It is in this intimate union that we begin to feel the urgency of His call—to bring Him souls, to make reparation for the sins that wound His Eucharistic Heart, and to labor for the salvation of those far from His grace. Yet, in this moment, Jesus invites us to a deeper level—to recollect not only for our own sanctification but to unite our hearts with His own burning desire for souls. Our Lord thirsts for souls, and in the silence of recollection, He places within our hearts this same thirst.

Frequent recollection, therefore, is not a mere practice; it is a way of bringing Jesus souls. It allows His love to overflow from within us, transforming every action into an act of intercession and reparation. Each moment spent in silence with Him is a moment of grace, a moment where His thirst for souls can be quenched through our loving union with His will. As we draw closer to His Eucharistic Heart, our lives become a living prayer, an unceasing offering for the salvation of souls, echoing His Divine Appeal: “I am in search of love. I am thirsting for souls.”

Let us heed this call and live in constant recollection, creating an interior silence where Jesus will reign supreme, and through our union with Him, may countless souls be brought to His Heart.

Prayer

O Adorable Jesus, fill our hearts with Your divine presence and peace. Grant us the grace to seek You always in silence and love. Help us to grow in deeper union with You, and may we bring souls to the infinite mercy of Your Eucharistic Heart.

Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, intercede for us
