EMBRACING THE LIGHT OF CHRIST

 Divine Appeal Reflection  - 120

Today, consider in Divine Appeal 120: "In My mercy souls will find the source of light. Heed My words for the good of souls. I am in search of souls."

In the midst of a world overshadowed by sin and despair, the radiant light of Our Adorable Jesus shines as a beacon of hope, a divine reality that offers true illumination to every soul lost in the darkness of this fallen world. The human condition, deeply wounded by the effects of original sin and the persistent allure of evil, often leads souls into a state of spiritual blindness. This darkness manifests itself in various forms; ignorance, fear, confusion, and moral decay, each of which distances souls from the infinite love and mercy of God.

Our Adorable Jesus, the "Light of the World" (John 8:12), offers a heartfelt invitation to everyone who is ready to leave this darkness and enter His amazing light. This light illuminates the hearts and thoughts of those who seek God sincerely; it is not only symbolic; rather, it is the essential essence of God's presence. It reveals the truth of our identity as children of God and the divine call to holiness, dispelling the falsehoods that so often ensnare us. In this light, the soul gains clarity, understanding its purpose in the grand design of God's providential plan, and is filled with the hope that springs from the promise of eternal life.

The boundless mercy of Our Adorable Jesus is the vessel through which this divine light is offered. It is a mercy that knows no limits, extending to every corner of the earth, reaching out to every soul, regardless of the depth of their darkness. The encounter with the mercy of Our Adorable Jesus is transformative, as it unveils the light of truth and divine love, which the world cannot provide. In this sacred encounter, the shadows of sin are dispelled, and the soul is guided on the path of righteousness, leading it back to the loving embrace of the Eternal Father.

Scripture bears witness to the light's universal reach, demonstrating that God's rescuing power is not beyond the grasp of people who "sit in darkness and in the shadow of death" (Luke 1:79). For those who turn to Our Adorable Jesus with repentant hearts, his light is the dawn that bursts through the darkness and offers salvation. In addition to illuminating the truth, this light purifies, erasing the residue of sin and filling the soul with the luminous light of God's sanctifying grace.

We are given the ability to defeat the darkness around us, withstand deceptive temptations, and live in the fullness of the truth that makes us free when we embrace the light of Our Adorable Jesus (John 8:32). Because it is the very light of God Himself, blazing in our hearts and guiding us to the fullness of His divine love and eternal glory, this light is the one that leads us to eternal life and will never be overpowered by the darkness (John 1:5)

Prayer

Adorable Jesus, Light of the World, shine Your merciful light into our hearts. Dispel the darkness of sin and guide us in Your truth. Fill our souls with Your love, leading us on the path of righteousness.

Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, intercede for us
