Divine Appeal Reflection  - 102

Today, consider in Divine Appeal 102:  "Watch with Me in My prison. I am hungry and thirsty. I want you to be a victim of My Presence in the tabernacles."

According to Catholic theology, Christ's atoning work on the Cross is adequate and complete for the redemption of all people. Despite His suffering, God, in His divine providence, makes it possible for people to take part in this redeeming effort. Christ asks the faithful to join Him in His mission, not because His sacrifice was insufficient to justify their participation. According to the Catholic Catechism (CCC 618) "The cross is the unique sacrifice of Christ, the 'one mediator between God and men.'" But 'the prospect of being made partners, in a way known to God, in the paschal mystery' is offered to all men, for in his incarnation divine nature he has connected himself to every man in some manner." Because in his incarnate divine person he has in some way united himself to every man, 'the possibility of being made partners, in a way known to God, in the paschal mystery’ is offered to all men."

While the vocation of a victim soul may seem reserved for a few, all souls are called to unite their sufferings with Christ and to participate in His redemptive work. This universal call to holiness invites every soul to consider how they can offer their daily trials and sacrifices for the salvation of others. By striving to become victim souls, we align ourselves more closely with Christ and His mission. Too few individuals pray and make enough sacrifices to win the souls of the lost, which is a tragic loss of many. There is a strong need for all mankind to take this to heart. Pursuing this invitation to purity and partaking in Christ's redeeming work, we ought to all endeavor to become victim souls. As a result, we will be able to welcome a great number of people into heaven and feel the immense happiness that comes from seeing those we have saved because of our sacrifices. It will serve as evidence of the strength of selfless love, this deep happiness and fulfillment. Soul redemption is possible through every modest act of kindness, every patiently borne sorrow, and every earnest prayer. This is the ultimate reward and purpose of living as a victim soul.

We humbly ask Our Adorable Jesus to guide us, just as He guided Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, in living the life of a victim soul. May His grace sustain us in our sacrifices, His love inspire our prayers, and His presence in the Eucharist be our constant source of strength and consolation. Through His guidance, may we fulfill our mission to save souls and bring glory to God.
