BRINGING SOULS TO JESUS

 Divine Appeal Reflection  - 94

Today, consider in Divine Appeal 94: "adore My thirst for souls. Bring Me souls in your 
prayers. Pray a great deal and implore mercy for souls."

This appeal from Our Adorable Jesus is not merely a request; rather, it is a heavenly call to all mankind to participate in sincere prayer for the repentance and salvation of sinners. Prayer is an essential obligation, especially for people we love who have strayed from the faith or are trapped in sin. Acts 16:31 serves as a reminder that our family members are rescued along with us when we believe in Jesus. We are encouraged by this promise to put our faith in God's grace to reconcile our loved ones to Him.

The Church, embodying Christ's presence, comprises a varied assembly of souls, each navigating their own spiritual path. Encouraged by James 5:16, we're urged to openly admit our faults to one another and intercede in prayer for mutual healing and conversion. It's vital that we pray for our church and wider community, especially those unaware of their transgressions or lacking intercessors. Through our petitions, we implore God's compassion, inviting others to repentance and restoration. Our prayers are essential in a society where injustice and conflict abound. We are prompted to pray for everyone, particularly those in positions of authority, in accordance with St. Paul's advice in 1 Timothy 2:1-2. By extending our prayers to encompass nations and the whole world, we seek divine mercy and guidance in these tumultuous times, aspiring for profound transformation through God's intervention.

Our prayers are necessary for priests and consecrated souls to continue being steadfast in their vocations as shepherds of God's people. They are not immune to temptation or sin. According to Hebrews 7:25, Jesus can always save people who come to God by Him. In order to support our clergy and religious in their sacred mission, let us ardently pray for their sanctification and release from the bonds of sin. Unaware of their need for salvation and repentance, a large number of souls exist in sin. By pointing individuals who are lost in the dark in the direction of Christ's mercy and love, our intercession can serve as a beacon of hope and a turning point for their salvation.

Our call to prayer is both a privilege and a responsibility. By fervently interceding for all sinners—those in our families, churches, communities, countries, and the world—we participate in Christ’s redemptive mission. Let us heed Jesus’ Divine Appeal, adoring His thirst for souls, and bringing them to Him through our prayers. Trusting in His infinite grace, may our prayers transform lives and lead all sinners to salvation. Ephesians 6:18 encourages us to pray on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests, confident in the power of prayer to bring about conversion, healing, and peace in our world.
