Divine Appeal Reflection - 73
Today, consider in Divine Appeal 73:"In the Sacrament of My Love I am so lonely and afflicted without any visitors for many hours. In My tabernacles I am forgotten and rejected by very many souls. Give Me company and pray a great deal." With all the noise of our daily activities and an abundance of duties and distractions, there is a silent space that has to be explored—a silence in which you meet with the Divine Presence in a very beneficial manner. This secluded quietness is experienced through Adoration, which is a spiritual discipline that directs the souls into the intimate presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ in His true presence in the Holy Eucharist.
Jesus, through His Divine Appeal, moves His call to our hearts as He challenges us to spend time with Him in Adoration. In this mystery of the presence of God, we are standing in front of the face of Christ, hidden in the form of bread under His humble appearance. It is here, in this silent communion, that we have a personal encounter with Our Adorable Jesus, who pours His love and mercy on us. With our response to the invitation to adore, we bring tranquility into the lonely Heart of Jesus, consoling Him and satisfying His ardent longing for companionship. Our silence becomes a healing balm for His aloneness as we turn to Him in silent prayer and adoration, uniting with Him.
In emulating Mary's posture of receptivity and attentiveness, as exemplified in Luke 10:38–42, the love of Christ outweighs all the anxieties and cares of the world. Here we allow His grace to move and change from the inside, slowly and progressively making us better and better people. The life of Sr. Anna Ali of the Most Holy Eucharist, emphasizes the central role of Adoration in Jesus’ Appeal. In a world saturated with busyness and distractions, she serves us as an example to give Christ our first place, spending time each day with Him in the Blessed Sacrament. Just as Sr. Anna Ali found value and meaning in her prayer hours of adoration, we too can savor the many treasures that result from personal encounters with the Lord. As we emulate her love for the Holy Eucharist, let us encounter the transforming presence of Christ in our lives. Let us not forget this great opportunity and offer to the Lord the treasure of our presence and prayer. In the blissful silence of His Eucharistic presence, may our hearts be molded in this way, and may we start bringing His light and love wherever the world needs it.
