DIVINE APPEAL REFLECTION

 Pray a Great Deal

Today, Consider the profound meaning of Jesus' revelation: "Pray a great deal." (Divine Appeal 62). In Catholic theology, this directive has two elements, encouraging souls to be regular and sincere in prayer. "Abundant prayer" focuses on a life filled with consistent prayer—an ongoing communion with God that transcends the limits of time. It encourages souls to express their unbreakable relationship with God, mirroring Christ's withdrawal to enjoy solitary communion with the Father (Mark 1:35). Moreover, this divine mandate requires sincerity and invites souls to approach prayer with sincerity and openness. It is a call to pour out the depths of the heart before the Almighty, receiving vulnerability and obviousness in a dialogue with God. It is through consistent and faithful prayer that souls develop transformative relationships and find comfort, guidance, and renewal in the loving presence of God. Thus, in heeding Jesus’ call to “Pray a great deal,”  souls embark on a journey of spiritual growth—a journey marked by unwavering devotion and genuine truthfulness to God.
