Jesus' Call to Prayer and Reparation
Today, consider in Divine Appeal 69: "Make reparation for all the pains I receive and pray to appease the wrath of My Eternal Father. The pains that I receive continuously pierce My Heart." Sr. Anna Ali's devoted prayer life, including the daily night vigils, presents a contemporary exemplar of prayer and reparation at Jesus' plea. In keeping her faith, she strived to fulfill the mystery of the call to love Jesus unconditionally, thus deepening her spiritual unity with Him. Taking over the footprints of Sr. Anna Ali, souls are invited to enter the realm of adoration and prayer with all their sincerity, responding to Jesus' Divine Appeals with their full hearts. Through regular and nightly prayers or other spiritual exercises, souls come into close contact with Christ, thus praying for reparation and to sooth Our Lord's Sacred Heart. By following this example, they live up to the standard set by Sr. Anna, which then encourages them to demonstrate God’s love just as He wanted it to be preached in the world. Souls are invited to unite their sufferings with Christ's, offering prayers and acts of reparation for the redemption of the world. Through this participation, they seek to console Jesus' wounded heart and invoke God's mercy upon humanity. This Divine Appeal is, on the other hand, an invitation to walk hand-in-hand with Jesus into the depths of His love, a communion that strengthens our spirituality through the promise to serve in His human redemption plan, which is set for all people on Earth. St. Therese of Lisieux, also called the "Little Flower" in the context of humility, asserted that infinitely many small acts of charity and solidarity given for the sins of the whole world are more effective than grand religious charity. The "Little Way" teaches that even insignificant acts of great love, for example, quiet acts of offering His Sacred Heart consolation and appeasing His wrath, are possible. St. John of the Cross, a mystic and doctor of the Church who is acclaimed for his teaching on the purification of the soul and its union with God, described this process. He described this mystery of human suffering as the "dark night of the soul," indicating that it was the possible way for our souls to reveal themselves with God.
