Jesus desires universal salvation
Today, consider in Divine Appeal 68: "I desire all to be saved. I am calling again and again. I am never
weary of calling sinners back". The Catholic Catechism confirms this Divine Appeal: "God predestines no one to go to hell; for this, a willful turning away from God (a mortal sin) is necessary, and persistence in it until the end" (CCC 1037). In this section of the Catechism, God's boundless mercy and His passionate desire for all of His children to be saved are stressed. In the Gospel of Matthew (18:12–14), Jesus uses the parable of the lost sheep to emphasize His unwavering pursuit of even one lost soul as an illustration of this great love. Embracing a continuous conversion of heart towards Christ, confessing sin, and accepting forgiveness are all part of the response to Jesus' divine invitation. Living by the love and compassion that Jesus teaches and having firm faith in Him as Savior are necessary. Preserving one's faith in the face of difficulties is crucial, but so is cultivating a close prayer life and sharing the gospel. Living as a disciple of Christ is, a lifetime commitment based on love, faith, and devotion. God's love is limitless, and He is ardently committed to seeing all people saved. Let us remain firm in our faith in Him.
