Do not Leave Jesus Alone
Today, consider in Divine Appeal 66: "After receiving Me do not leave Me alone just like Judas." Engaging in holy communion marks the initial step in our connection with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. It signifies the onset of a sacred pilgrimage towards deeper intimacy and communion with our Lord. Devoting solitary moments to Jesus post-reception in the Eucharist is imperative, mirroring the disciples' companionship with Him during His earthly presence. In Matthew 26:40–41, Jesus asks His disciples to stay awake and pray with Him in the Garden of Gethsemane. But, well aware of the suffering that lay ahead, Jesus remains in communion with the Father while the disciples struggle to stay awake. In the same way, we share in Jesus' grief when we spend time with Him in the Blessed Sacrament, providing Him with solace and company. Our presence consoles His Sacred Heart and strengthens our spiritual bond. As the psalmist urges, in the stillness of Eucharistic adoration, we gain a deeper understanding of Jesus, allowing His love to fill our souls (Psalm 46:10). Let's heed Jesus' plea and stay with Him after communion, engaging in conversation and allowing His love to transform us.
